Agrium Inc. is based in Calgary, Alberta and is a global leader across the agricultural crop input value chain with 2011 annual sales of CDN$15.5 billion, over 15,000 employees, and a SAP/PeopleSoft ERP. Agrium’s acquisitive growth strategy was challenging from an integration perspective, including for the information technology team.

Chazey Partners was engaged to develop the business case and pre-design for Agrium to deliver a global IT support function involving the following regions/functions: Corporate; Wholesale; Retail Infrastructure; Retail SAP and BCP Applications; Agrium Europe; Agrium Australia.  The team delivered a solution that included the policies, processes, and customer relationship management and governance framework to transform its information technology organization (covering Operations, Infrastructure and Applications) to support its business forward, engaging key stakeholders, supporting Agrium’s acquisition strategy, providing excellent services, and with a business case detailing the roadmap to reducing costs by over 30%. This IT Transformation review included change management, organization design, process mapping/design, business analysis, benchmarking and best practice analysis.
