Varian Medical Systems produces tools that leverage X-ray energy to fight cancer, for diagnostic imaging, and to protect ports & borders.  In 2016, Varian had revenue of $3.2 billion and net income of over $400 million supported by a staff of over 6,500 in 70 locations globally.

Chazey was engaged to support the transformation of Varian’s Human Resources function, focusing on delivering best in class service in an efficient and cost effective manner.  We recommended and developed a new service delivery model and org structure with specialist Centers of Expertise, and a robust Shared Services Organizational model providing HR Business Partners the capacity and time to support the business units.

This transformation evolved the company from a model of traditional corporate organizations with several siloes of services dominated by historical relationships. We also led the deployment of US services to a new hub in Atlanta and established Budapest as the location of European services.
